Skansen Heritage Linens - Ekelund Weavers Sweden
Skansen, founded in 1891 in Stockholm, Sweden, is the oldest open-air museum in the world. Skansen's founder, Arthur Hazelius, was a trailblazer when he created Skansen. His concept still permeates Skansen today - to understand contemporary times and to know where we are headed in the future, we must know our history. From the outset, Skansen was intended to be a fun destination with buildings from all over Sweden, the preservation of crafts, music, games and play, endangered plants and animals, and the traditions that are vanishing along with new ones that are added. Textiles from the Skansen Collection reflect the cultural heritage and history of Sweden.
