Professor Oiva Toikka, who designed his much-loved Kastehelmi collection in 1964, has designed a new bowl for the range, which works perfectly as a dessert or ice cream bowl, or as a serving dish. The bowl is also an excellent gift item.The Finnish ÔdewdropÕ name refers to the circles of bubbles in the pressed glass. Here two elements, water and fire, are combined. Beautiful reflections are created around the votive when there is a light inside.

about the designer

Oiva Toikka (1931 - 2019) is one of the greatest names in Nordic glassware. Toikka originally trained in ceramics and later moved to glassware. He designed the Kastehelmi Dewdrop dinnerware collection for Iittala in 1964. In 1973 he began making Iittala glass birds for which he has become world-renowned. Over the years Toikka worked in many other mediums, including textile design and as a stage and costume designer, and with the release of a new Iittala glass bird each year, Oiva Toikka has the reputation as a leader of Finnish glass and design.
