  • Collage 450 was designed by Louise Campbell in 2009, and extends the Collage family. Collage 450 is a scaled-down version of Collage 600, launched in 2005. Collage was displayed for the first time at an exhibition at the Copenhagen Furniture Fair in 2004, along with Campbell 275 and 14 other experimental light prototypes presenting new ways of interpreting light. Louise Campbell has always been very preoccupied with daylight in her work with lighting. Her aim with Collage Pendant was therefore to imitate daylight. As Campbell expresses it: The most obvious contrast between daylight and artificial light is that nature only has one light source, and you never look directly into it. Our perception of light is based on countless natural layers which filter and reflect the light. These observations have been integrated into Collage. The number of layers within the Collage 450 has been increased to allow the pattern, light and shadows to more closely replicate the uncontrollable light seen in nature.
Louise CampbellLouise Campbell (b. 1970) was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Being the daughter of a Danish father and an English mother, she grew up and was educated in both countries. After graduating from the London College of Furniture in 1992, she returned to Denmark and continued her studies in Industrial Design at Denmarks Design School, graduating from here in 1995.

She set up her own studio in 1996, from where she has worked independently since. Focus is on furniture and lighting design, but the studio is increasingly involved in product design and interior design projects as well.

The client list is long and varied, including companies such as Louis Poulsen, Zanotta, HAY, Royal Copenhagen, Holmegaard, Stelton, Muuto, Interstop and The Danish Ministry of Culture. Louise Campbell's work is playful and experimental, and is increasingly gaining a reputation for gently twisting not only every day objects and situations, but also materials and manufacturing processes in new directions.
