Louisiana poster featuring the work of the Japanese-American artist, Yoko Ono (b. 1933), published in connection with the museum's exhibition, Yoko Ono - half a wind show - a Retrospective, in 2013. Yoko Ono is a legend and one of our times influential artists. On the occasion of Ono's 80th birthday, Louisiana opened a retrospective exhibition of over 100 works that showcased the diversity of media and disciplines in Yoko Ono's artistic output.

Yoko Ono expresses herself with equal simplicity and originality in visual art, poetry, film, music, installation, performance and events. The main element in her works are ideas, not materials. Many of Ono's ideas are poetic, bizarre and utopian, others concretely realizable. They reflect in equal measure her subtle humor and a distinctly socially critical attitude.

While some ideas manifest in the form of objects, others remain on an immaterial plane. The starting point for many works are Yoko Ono's Instructions, oral or written calls to the audience. In this way, the artist assigns the viewer an active role in the creation process.
