Royal Copenhagen Christmas Drop - 2020

The little Church Owl keeps warm in his feathered suit as he watches over the skyline of Copenhagen and listens to the bells of the Church of Our Lady from the nook at the old Copenhagen University. He pays close attention as Copenhageners flock form the busy streets of the city centre to enter the quietness of the grand church to enjoy the silence and revel in the beauty of the lavish sculptures by Bertel Thorvaldsen. The Annual Plates have been issued every year since 1908. The relief for the motif has been hand-cut by Royal Copenhagen's talented modeling artist, Allan Therkelsen, and the plate has been cut according to proud craftsmanship traditions. Allan Therkelsen has also created this year's bell, drop, cup, and figurine.
