The Iittala Kastehelmi bowl and plate sets were designed by Oiva Toikka as part of the Kastehelmi collection. Kastehelmi means "dewdrop" in Finnish, and the collection is often called Iittala Dewdrop. The Dewdrop design was created in 1964 as part of a technical challenge to try and replicate the look of droplets of water on glass. Iittala reintroduced the line in 2010 to celebrate Oiva Toikka's 50th year as a designer.
