The Kastehelmi collection was designed by Oiva Toikka. Kastehelmi means 'dewdrop' in Finnish, and the collection is often called Iittala Dewdrop. The Dewdrop design was created in 1964 as part of a technical challenge to try and replicate the look of droplets of water on glass. Iittala reintroduced the line in 2010 in clear and apple green to celebrate Oiva Toikka's 50th year as a designer; new colors have since been added to the growing collection.
