With its slim, black steel frame and classical seat of braided paper cord, Vent Stool has an organic look that will easily complement both modern and traditional interiors. 'Vent' means 'wait' in Danish—and the stool was originally designed to offer people a seat at Museums while observing and enjoying the artworks. The seat is hand-made in collaboration with the Danish socio-economic company 'Blindes Arbejde' which employs visually impaired people in the manufacturing of traditional, handcrafted design.

Skagerak by FRITZ HANSEN

Skagerak by FRITZ HANSEN is based on the love of wood, proud traditions of craftsmanship and respect for the sea and for the history of seafaring. The values and traditions absorbed from these sources have been crucial in all my family's endeavors, even as far back as the 19th century, when my great-great grandfather, Soren Mollebygger, built the first sawmills for sawing and working up the flotsam and jetsam of the shipwrecks, all too frequent at that time, on Skagen Odde. These raw materials provided the basis for the joinery skills for which Skagen is widely known and which live on in Denmark's carpentry traditions. Skagerak by FRITZ HANSEN is the product of generations of our family's passion for wood and it all began with driftwood.
