Barber Osgerby

Instead of designing from the outside, Barber Osgerby began by understanding what Kasthall already does best. By working within the capabilities of the loom—its rhythm, limitations and possibilities—the collection emerges directly from the conditions of making.

We began by listening. Understanding what Kasthall excels at—what's inherent to their process and equipment—was central. We wanted the rugs to emerge from those conditions, not in spite of them. – Edward Barber
