Jette Frölich
Known for her beautiful Christmas designs and unique and elegant Scandinavian-style motifs, Jette Frölich began designing paper decorations back in 1966. In 1976, she was asked by Illums Bolighus if she wanted to be that year's Christmas artist, and since 1980 she has been translating the key themes of Christmas into simple motifs for the Holmegaard Christmas collection. Here she uses all facets of the Holmegaard Christmas collection's many glassware pieces. The Christmas bottle that founded the Holmegaard Christmas series, is particularly beautiful and is testament to her distinctive, elegant lines.
Every year, she creates a new design collection in her simple, refined and romantic style, and for many years, her Christmas rooms north of Copenhagen have attracted visitors from near and far. Here motifs typical of a Danish Christmas adorn Christmas cookie jars, Christmas bottles and Christmas candle snuffers.
Jette Fröuml;lich finds inspiration for her work in the nature around her and on her many travels around the world.
Jette Frölich has gained worldwide recognition and has exhibited in Japan, France, Scotland, Canada and for the past 25 years she has decorated Lysebu in Oslo, Norway at Christmas. Today, she cuts and designs from her home in Søllerød, north of Copenhagen. Here she has also created a rose garden with historic roses, which she opens to the public every year in June.
