The elegant Hammershøi vases carry the traditional furrows that tie the Hammershøi range together across color and function. The mini vase has a delicate, little collar around the neck which, together with the vases' harmonious idiom, naturally elongates fresh flowers so that they become one with the ceramics. Use the vase as a centerpiece on your dinning table in the autumn.
Use the three, sweet miniature vases as decoration in a lovely tableau or on the table filled with little flowers and fresh twigs from the garden.
Place the large vase as a nice centerpiece on the table setting or create nice combinations with the rest of Kähler's Hammershøi series. The rounded and soft shapes together with the beautiful, fluted pattern has created a simple and modern expression which fits perfectly into any home. Design by Hans-Christian Bauer.
Hans-Christian Bauer is a Norwegian-born industrial designer who graduated from the Design Line of the School of Fine Arts in 2010. He has since worked with his own projects and product developed for Kähler, &tradition, Menu, Harrit Sørensen, Norm Architects and Mencke & Vagnby in product and furniture design, where he always strives to combine the warmth and uniqueness of ceramics with a rational, modern design and good utility value.
Hans-Christian Bauer has unleashed his sense of good design and ever-lasting handmade quality that in Kähler's Hammershøi series, where he has brought the legacy of the old Kähler artist Svend Hammershøi into the new millennium with great authenticity.
The series is inspired by Svend Hammershøi's original works, where the distinctive grooves contrast with a round design. Svend Hammershøi worked for Kähler from 1893 and embarked on a groundbreaking journey into art and design history. And Hans-Christian Bauer has designed the entire Kähler Hammershøi series with great respect for Kähler's artistic legacy, design history and handmade design traditions.
The story of Kähler begins as early as 1839, when the Dutch potter Herman J. Kähler opens a small ceramics workshop in Næstved and turns the first Kähler vase. It marks the start of a unique design adventure that will one day resonate around the world. However, it is only when his son Herman A. Kähler takes over the famous workshop in 1875 that the ceramic adventure really begins.
Craftsmanship, creativity and artistic collaborations have been part of Kähler's DNA since the beginning. And they still are. It's what has made Kähler an iconic ceramic brand, one which has charted the course of Danish ceramic design.
We create all our products based on Kähler's handmade design traditions. We've always done that—and we always will.
