Instead of designing from the outside, Barber Osgerby began by understanding what Kasthall already does best. By working within the capabilities of the loom—its rhythm, limitations and possibilities—the collection emerges directly from the conditions of making.
We began by listening. Understanding what Kasthall excels at—what's inherent to their process and equipment—was central. We wanted the rugs to emerge from those conditions, not in spite of them.

Since 1889, the Kasthall Design Studio in Kinna, West Sweden, has created rugs for all kinds of clients and spaces; from beautiful residences, lux yachts, and exotic hideaways to cool offices, boutique hotels and the Swedish Royal Castle.
In an increasingly standardized world in which products are mass produced, painstaking handwork is more and more rare.
